Zili Sloboda, Sc.D., President, Applied Prevention Science, Inc. is an expert on the prevention of substance use by adolescents and has broad experience in research related to at-risk youth. She was a founder of the Society for Prevention Research (SPR) both in the U.S. and in Europe and is well-published in the area of substance use epidemiology and prevention. She is currently coordinating a book series on Advances in Prevention Science being published by Springer Press (Sloboda and Petras (Eds.): Defining Prevention Science-2014; Bosworth (Ed.): Prevention Science in School Settings- 2016, Teasdale and Bradley (Eds.): Preventing Crime and Violence, - 2017. The latest book in the series, Prevention of Substance Use (Sloboda, Petras, Hingson and Robertson (Eds.) is scheduled for publication in 2019. In addition, she has a long-standing commitment to the dissemination of evidence-based programming and the advancement of Translation I and II research through work with SPR and with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Standards for Drug Use Prevention, and the Universal Prevention Curriculum.
