Botswana Police Service Youth Dialogue Panel Discussions

Last week the Botswana Association of Addiction Professionals - BAAP / ISSUP Botswana had the honour of participating in the Botswana Police Service Youth Dialogue panel discussions, centred around the theme: "I Am Affected: Breaking the Cycle of Gender-Based Violence, Substance Use, and Improving Mental Health."

The event, organised by the Gender and Child Protection Unit of the Botswana Police, aimed to engage approximately 1,000 newly graduated police officers as they prepared to be deployed to their respective duty stations nationwide.

During the discussions, the panel emphasised the critical importance of self-care for police officers, noting that prioritising their own well-being equips them to deliver more effective and compassionate service to the communities they serve.
