A one-day training workshop on Neuro-Linguistic Programming used in the treatment of HIV/AIDS and Substance Use Disorder was organized by ESPERANCE with the collaboration of ISSUP Pakistan and UMMAH Foundation at Hotel Ambassador in Lahore.
This one-day Training was facilitated by Dr. Ibrahim Siawash. A total of 37 participants including social workers, psychiatrists and psychotherapists from Lahore undertook the training. The participants were chosen based on the fact that they can play a vital role in the treatment and rehabilitation of SUDs.
The main aims and objectives of the training were:
- To identify the biological, environmental, behavioural, and social causes and consequences of drug use/HIV and addiction across the lifespan and their technique in NLP.
- To develop new and improved strategies to prevent drug use , HIV and its consequences
- To develop new and improved treatment services to help people suffering from substance use disorders, achieve and maintain a meaningful and sustained recovery.
- To Iincrease the public health impact.
The closing ceremony was held with the arrival of Chief Guest Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz alongside Ms. Saima Asghar, Director ISSUP Pakistan and Mr. Muhammad Aslam President MA Jinnah Foundation (Regd), Sialkot. During the closing ceremony Ms. Saima Asghar shared the Introduction of ISSUP Global and ISSUP Pakistan and motivated the audience to promote evidence-based practices. She also guided them to the Universal Treatment Curriculums to improve their services.
Mr. Bashir Ahmad Naz thanked the organizers and said he would continue supporting such activities and would conduct a UTC training series in Lahore. After the speeches, shields were awarded by ESPERANCE to all honorable Guests and certificates of completion were distributed among all participants.
