On 8th March 2021, ISSUP Pakistan Chapter and M A Jinnah Foundation (Regd), Sialkot in collaboration with Youth Forum Pakistan (For Drug Use Prevention) organized the event to celebrate "INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY" at New Life Rehab Centre (For Substance Use Prevention, Treatment & Rehabilitation), Sialkot.
The main purpose behind celebrating this day was to promote peace with women's rights. While every day is a women's day, this particular day is marked to honor all the women and their achievements regardless of the divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic, or political.
ISSUP Pakistan Chapter has organized this programme especially to commemorate International Women’s Day and all the speakers and guests lauded the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and felt that the day is also a reminder of their responsibility to achieve gender equality.
The Special Invitee Ms. Abida Bukhari Wellknown Social activist from Sialkot emphasized the need to be conscious of their rights and assert them. She said that women should fight against gender discrimination and help rural women to make them literate.
Advocate Mrs. Shabana Kousar who was the special guest of the function advised women to scale new heights in all aspects of life. She gave a call that all the women advocates should contribute their mite in achieving justice for women and asked the women advocates to support the cause of women and fight for their rights.
Mr. Muhammad Aslam, President M A Jinnah Foundation (Regd), Sialkot, in his message said that woman is the life-giver to the whole human race and it is the responsibility of everyone to give her a respectable status and honor in society. He advised women to empower themselves without waiting for any external agency to help them. He lauded the modern women as they are prospering equally well along with men and competing with men in all fields.
Ms. Saima Asghar Director ISSUP Pakistan Chapter, welcomed the guests, gave a brief introduction of ISSUP Global and ISSUP Pakistan, and after that during her speech said that the thought process of women should change and each woman should respect other woman closed her remarks by sharing vote of thanks.
Women from all fields of life also grace the event including Girls/Youth, fun activities were conducted during the where all women participated and enjoyed.
At the End of the event Cake Cutting Ceremony was also held and refreshment was also arranged/Provided for the Participants and Honorable Guests.
