ISSUP Bahamas National Chapter Launches Historic INEP Plus Training at Royal Bahamas Police Force Headquarters – 24 April 2024

ISSUP Bahamas Chapter achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of its groundbreaking 12-session face-to-face training for Introduction to Evidence-Based Prevention – INEP Plus. The historic event unfolded at the esteemed Royal Bahamas Police Force Headquarters in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Chief Superintendent Michael Thurston, representing Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Northern Bahamas, Ms. Shanta Knowles, delivered poignant remarks, underscoring the importance of this initiative in bolstering community resilience and safety.

A diverse group of professionals, including law enforcement officers from various divisions such as the Drug Enforcement Unit, Urban Policing, CRO, Traffic, and Southwestern Division, as well as participants from the LEAD Institute and clinical psychologists from Grand Bahama Health Services, came together to enrich the training landscape.

The orientation sessions, expertly facilitated by Troy E. Clarke I, ICAP Tx I, and Lowena West – distinguished ISSUP Bahamas Certified Facilitators for the INEP Plus Training – set the stage for an immersive and transformative learning experience.

This momentous launch signifies a significant stride in the ISSUP Bahamas Chapter's mission to equip professionals with evidence-based practices for substance use prevention. This, in turn, will contribute to the creation of healthier communities and a brighter future for the Bahamas.
