Nazarius Mbona Tumwesigye is an Associate Professor in the department of epidemiology and biostatistics and an immediate past chair of the department.
He is a country lead for the AU initiated drug epidemiology network and he is working on a surveillance system for alcohol and drug use in Kampala metropolitan area using data from 10 rehabilitation centres. He has led researchers to form an Alcohol, Drug and Addictions (ADARC).
He has authored/co-authored over 15 papers with a connection to alcohol or drugs in general. He has supervised several graduate students in the same field.
