Webinar: Preventive policies in higher education: creating preventive contexts
ISSUP Chile invites you to participate in a webinar presenting the results of the latest study on substance use in higher education students in Chile.
The webinar will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. (Chile time).
December 1, 2020, 13:00 - 14:30 hrs (Chile time)
This study on substance use in higher education students in Chile shows that 68% have consumed alcohol in the last month and, of these, 68.1% refers to an ebriety event in the last month. In addition, the prevalence of marijuana in the last month is 33%. While these figures are worrying, the picture in Latin America is not much different, becoming an urgent issue to address.
Higher education institutions are a privileged context for the prevention of substance use in young people and, in this sense, institutional policies can act effectively by incorporating evidence-based strategies.
This seminar will address recommendations in this area and implementation experience in Chilean institutions.
