Assoc. Professor Raffaella Margherita Milani is a Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society) and Course Leader for Addiction Studies at the University of West London. She is member of the ISSUP-UK board and Trustee for Addiction Professionals.
Her main area of research has been the effects of ecstasy polydrug use on mental well-being, gender differences and binge drinking and sexual behaviour. In recent years her consultancy and research work has shifted towards the evaluation of peer led interventions for people with co-existing substance use and mental health problems. She is also interested in improving access and treatment outcomes for marginalised communities. She has extensive experience in curriculum and workforce development in the drug and alcohol sectors.
