Xavier Ferrer, Ph.D., is a clinical psychology specialist and health promotion expert with over four decades of experience in addiction research and training. As the Director of the postgraduate Master's Degree on Drug Dependence at the University of Barcelona for 37 years, he has graduated over 700 professionals from 17 countries.
Dr. Ferrer also serves as the Executive Director at FSC, a Spanish NGO employing 1600 professionals in 130+ centers, including 37 dedicated to addiction services. His extensive contributions span the design of addiction treatment centers, involvement in various settings, and the coordination of European projects on drug demand reduction.
Currently, his research focuses on drug treatment evaluation and the intersection of addictions with homelessness and interpersonal violence.
