Gemma Anne Yarwood

Gemma is a Reader in Sociology and Criminology and Deputy Director of the Substance Use and Associated Behaviours (SUAB) research group at Manchester Met University, UK.

Gemma's recent research projects include, 'End of Life care for people using substances and their families'. At the heart of her work is participatory research and, in collaboration with colleagues, people with lived experience and practitioners, she helped develop a new model of care for dignity in dying. 

Gemma has spent two decades teaching, researching, practicing and writing about social justice and social care.
