Abstract
The project, led by Casa Rosetta Onls, is funded by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Government, aims to address various forms of addiction, focusing on prevention[1] measures, awareness campaigns, and youth engagement activities.
Goals
Aligned with the national and regional Prevention Plan 2020-2025, the project aims to develop and implement a community intervention , evidence-based practices for preventing drug use among adolescents in three provinces in Sicily. The primary goal is to promote prevention, reducing risk factors and enhancing protective factors to modify attitudes and behavior patterns among the school-age adolescent[2] population.
Objectives
implementing the "Unplugged" prevention program, certified training for trainers, teacher training, and creating places for adolescent[3] listening and meeting places in three provinces.
Activities
· Build a stakeholder network through in-person and online meetings targeting experts[5] , law enforcement officers[6] , school agencies, and other professionals[7] from[8] related[9] contexts.
· Present EDPQS recommendations on substance use prevention and all forms of addiction based on scientific evidence, with a focus on the school environment.
· Conduct two editions of a training of trainers course on "Unplugged", aiming to certify 60 professionals capable of cascading training to secondary school teachers.
· Organize cascading training for secondary school teachers, certifying 600 teachers on the "Unplugged" program.
· Implement the "Unplugged" program in secondary schools, reaching 12,000 adolescents.
· Establish places for active listening and youth aggregation in Caltanissetta, Agrigento and Enna municipalities to address educational poverty and promote active citizenship.
· Conduct initiatives to develop active listening, creativity and youth aggregation.
