Drug Science 2017: Psychoactive substances in dialogue between scientific cultures and practice concepts
Drug science is a newly developed discipline of substantial importance. A wealth of perspectives intersect in this field of action, among these are neurobiology, clinical pharmacology, psychotherapy, addiction treatment, social sciences and political sciences. #DrugScience2017 aims at stimulating the development of transdisciplinary approaches towards an integrative practice of drug research. We have invited researchers from different scientific disciplines dealing with psychoactive substances to present their work, and would like to invite engaged members of the community to discuss the latest approaches in the field. In this dialogue we will discuss the neurobiological basis of addiction, drug effects and altered states of consciousness, addiction medicine, addiction therapeutics and preventive issues as well as epidemiological and drug policy questions.
