Ashwin Thind

Ashwin is a clinical director and clinical psychologist specialising in substance use disorders, sexually compulsive behaviours, and trauma. He works in both residential and outpatient settings.

He serves in an advisory and consultative capacity at a community sexual health clinic, where he is developing an outpatient harm reduction chemsex program. Ashwin is pursuing his doctoral thesis in Public Health, focusing on adapting psychological interventions for problematic chemsex management and enhancing service delivery for mental health professionals.

A strong advocate for drug policy reform, Ashwin is a member of Malaysia's newly formed Drug Decriminalization Task Force. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the ISSUP Malaysian Chapter. Active in recovery initiatives, he is among the founding members of the Asian Recovery Network (ARN) and a member of the Global Recovery Network (GRN) working group.
