Cecila Chau

Bio

Dr. Cecilia Chau is a member of the International Center for Technology Transfer of Peru. She obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). Dr. Chau completed her specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy at the Peruvian Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Lima-IPETECC. Later she obtained a doctorate in psychology at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). Throughout her professional career, the focus of specialization and research have been risk behaviors in adolescents and university students, such as stress, coping, health, and addictive behaviors. On this point, her academic and applied knowledge has positioned her as coordinator of the Psychology of Addictions and Risk Behaviors Research Group since 2014. She also has vast experience in consulting, clinical experience, and the development and implementation of prevention programs, interventions, and health promotion. For this reason, she was the founder of the PUCP Saludable Program, of which she was the coordinator from 2012 to 2020. She is currently the director of the master's degree in addictions and addictive behaviors at the PUCP and a full-time principal professor in the Academic Department of Psychology of the PUCP.
