With four decades in psychiatry and public health, Dr. Desai specializes in mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and prevention. Formerly the Director of the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), he has led SUD programs in India and abroad, including a Fulbright Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Desai also advises on national policy for mental health and SUD and values innovative practices to enhance ground-level impact.
