Abstract

Quality of training modules in prevention – INEP, INEP Plus

The Universal Prevention Curriculum – UPC was created globally, led by Zili Sloboda, with a team of highly qualified scientists and prevention experts, Applied Prevention Science International (APSI). UPC is a combination of essential information in the field of prevention with a focus on evidence-based programs. The International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction – ICUDDR supports this curriculum. Another international institution supporting UPC dissemination and its partial outputs is The International Society of Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Professionals – ISSUP. Under the leadership of Roman Gabrhelík (Department of Addictology, Charles University) an online course INEP - Introduction to Evidence-Base Prevention was established based on the European adaptation of UPC Adapt project. The INEP course is already in several language versions and has its INEP Plus extensions. The INEP Plus version consists of a number of sessions, alternated with the self-administered INEP lectures, facilitated by a trainer that helps trainees to deepen the contents of the INEP course. Prevention education is a priority worldwide. Nowadays, online teaching is becoming an essential part of education systems. One of the foundations of evidence-based practices is the art of combining the expertise and interactivity of a course environment.
