Joel Johnson

Joel Johnson serves as President and CEO of TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities), a nonprofit organization in the U.S. that specializes in care coordination and case management for people with substance use and mental health disorders.

Mr. Johnson is an internationally recognized expert in behavioral health, and in 2021 he was elected to the board of directors of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Association on Behavioral Health and Friends of ISSUP, the United States chapter of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals.

He serves on the City of Chicago Board of Health that advises the mayor on public health matters, and is a member of the Cook County Equity Fund Taskforce and Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board (IORAB), which makes advisory recommendations to the Governor’s Opioid Prevention and Recovery Steering Committee.
