Rasha Abi Hana

Rasha is the Scientific Support Coordinator at ISSUP. She has a master’s degree in science specialized in quality management, and a Diploma in Mental Health Policy and Services from Lisbon Institute of Global Mental Health.

Rasha is pursuing her PhD at Vrije University Amsterdam in the Clinical, Neuro- and Developmental Psychology Department. Her research is focused on scaling up mental health services in different settings including primary health care setting and tertiary care settings. Currently her study is concentrated on mental health stigma and on quality rights implementation in mental health and substance use facilities.

Rasha is certified by EMCDDA as a National Master Trainer for EUPC European Prevention Curriculum. She is an editorial board member of the International Journal of Adiktologie (Addictology) (https://adiktologie-journal.eu).

Prior to joining ISSUP, Rasha was the Service Development Coordinator in the National Mental Health Programme at the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon. She coordinated the operations in the comprehensive community mental health services and substance use treatment centres. She also assisted in the development of Standard Operating Procedures to support the work of the Drug Addiction Committee.

Rasha’s role within ISSUP’s Scientific Support Team is to help ensure the necessary input and support to maintain ISSUP’s quality provision of appropriate information and services to its members and to the drug demand reduction community.
