Sindy Santiago

Ms. Santiago is a Brazilian Lawyer specialized in Civil Law, Constitutional State and Religious Freedom. She is a senior associate attorney at Santiago, Almeida e Moriconi Law Firm. Her law practices focus on public law and human rights. She has worked extensively on immigration and human rights abuse cases involving migrants, refugees, and minorities from different nationalities resettling in Brazil and other Latin American countries.

Ms. Santiago understands that everyone is entitled to pursue opportunities in life free from harassment, with dignity and respect for human rights. She considers every case a unique case requiring special attention and dedication. Her first priority is to interview and listen to her clients’ suffering and challenges to ensure she understands the struggles and the need for immediate action. Ms. Santiago’s goal is to provide her clients with a clear overview of next steps for resettlement and integration to a new life.

Ms. Santiago primarily handles legal cases located in the State of Sao Paolo, the Federal District in Brasilia, and other Brazilian States. She is a senior legal consultant for international  organizations, NGOs, foreign governments, and Law Firms seeking clarification about Brazilian laws and legal system. She has been a central focus expert for international organisations advising on immigration law and best practices, and acts as a promoter of public policies and guidelines on migration with the Government of Brazil. Ms. Santiago has participated in numerous international conferences about immigration policies and visas issuances, focusing mainly on migrants and refugees facing life threatening and physical harms. She has been advocating for an innovative new program providing primary healthcare assistance to refugees immigrating to Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America.

Ms. Santiago is a member of the Human Rights Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association – São Paulo Section. She is also a permanent head counselor for the NGO Panahagah. She resides in the city of Jundiai, in the State of Sao Paolo, Brazil
