Prochaska,s Change Model is amazing, fantastic .we can apply it in other behavioral interventions too.
Stages are 1.Precontemplation Stage
2.Contemplation stage
3.Preparation stage
4.Action stage
5.Maintenance stage.
And results of healthy and unhealthy maintenance.
(Recovery or Relapse)
At first stage, patient is unable to see his or her problems and does not want any change.
And we often focus on only drugs here.
If we see other areas like dissociation from addictive environment, friends, paraphernalia,Behaviours, repairing interpersonal relationships etc, patient  may be on precontemplation stage too.He or she does not see these as problems  in next stages of treatment whether he is taking treatment.
Being a good counselor these problems need our attention too.we can see  how important these factors are in recovery.
Neglected factors are also important as abstinence is.comprehensive treatment can bring desired outcomes .
These factors also need Readiness Rulers ratings.

thank you professor. i use prochaska's steps of change. the big challenge is to keep the patient motivated in the process of changing behavior. i would like to know more about the other areas you mentioned: dissociation from the addictive environment, paraphernalia and repair of interpersonal relationships. example. i have an 18 year old patient who has been using cannabis for 3-4 years. the first experience was in the 4th grade of high school. on biographical examination: it is a blended family of 3 children of which the patient is the last born of the mother and the only son of the father. social success of the two eldest children. communication difficulty between the child and the parents. accusation and mutual reproach between the parents about the child's drug use. in clinic: 1st visit: mother and child. child was under the influence of her substance. 2nd visit: child and father. the patient was more sober, calm and proactive during the interview. very irritated by the presence of his father. the interview was done in two steps, one after the other. 3rd visit: the father alone. presents the drug test in the urine: positive for cannabis. reports that the child refuses to respect his appointment, runs away, steals money, reduces pocket money. In this case teacher, how to keep the child in treatment?

Thanx once again to give me a chance to strengthen my friendship by answering this . My friend in any case we need therapeutic alliance,we gain trust ,we. Enhance it and we maintain it.as you know cannabis brings rigidity in perceptions and client does,t find realities with these perception,it can happen..in short MI and MET can bring positive changes..you are the best person who can see all these things well.Thanx my friend.
