8th European Alcohol Policy Conference 2018

The 8th European Alcohol Policy Conference (8EAPC) will take place from 20-21st November in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

Enlightened Alcohol Policy for the 21st Century will see SHAAP (Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems) and Eurocare (The European Alcohol Policy Alliance) hosting with sponsorship from Alcohol Focus Scotland, the Institute of Alcohol Studies and the Scottish National Health Service.

This is the 8th in a series of conferences which have taken place across Europe including in Brussels, Ljubljana, Stockholm and Barcelona. Drawing on the rich historical scientific focus of the Scottish capital and the city's role in the Enlightenment, the theme of the conference is based heavily in evidence-based scientific principles with the presentations aiming to "re-assert the importance of enlightened policies".

The conference will include 300 delegates from a variety of areas including government ministers and officials, representatives from the World Health Organization, the European Commission, NGOs and academics.
