Greenspace programmes and problem substance use

DRNS is hosting an online event on Tuesday 22nd June 2021, 10:00am-12:00pm. This online seminar will be run by Wendy Masterton, a PhD student from the University of Stirling, who is undertaking a realist evaluation of greenspace programmes supporting people with problem substance use.

In the seminar, Wendy will discuss how greenspace programmes are increasing in popularity, but there is still little understanding of the mechanisms by which these programmes are successful, particularly for people who use drugs. Wendy will discuss her ongoing research and her recently published initial framework that may aid in future implementation of programmes. Wendy will also discuss some of the challenges of implementing greenspace programmes and potential barriers to their acceptability and buy-in.
