The Malaysian chapter of ISSUP was officially launched during the International Recovery Symposium 2023 (IRS 2023), on 20 September 2023 by the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah. More than 600 symposium participants from 22 countries witnessed the glittering launching ceremony in conjunction with the Phoenix Awards Gala. Present was the host of the IRS 2023, the Sarawak Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah. Also present were: 1) Joanne Travis, CEO of ISSUP, 2) Fan Yang, International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the US Dept of State, 3) Olha Myshakivska, ISSUP Chapter Coordinator.
