Flourishing in Recovery – A Brief Guide to Applying Positive Psychology in Recovery from Addiction

Since its inception at the turn of the century, study in the field of Positive Psychology has grown exponentially. Positive Psychology theory and research is now applied in realms ranging from education to the military. But what exactly is Positive Psychology, and how can we best use it to support people to enter and maintain recovery from addictions?

  • What Positive Psychology is (and what it’s not)
  • The building blocks of well-being
  • How we can think about applying Positive Psychology in addiction recovery
  • Adapting evidence-based Positive Psychology interventions

Bio: 

Jessica Jones is a Positive Psychology Coach who supports people at all stages in their recovery from addictions. As well as working one-to-one with clients, she recently designed and facilitated a 12-week group programme at Steps2Recovery, a residential rehab for people recently released from prison. Jessica holds an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology as well as training in Designing Well-Being Interventions & Programs, Invitational Intervention, Recovery Specialist training, and Existential Wellbeing Counselling.
