Father Doctor Vincenzo Sorce

Fr. Dr Vincenzo Sorce was born in Serradifalco (CI), Italy in 1944. He attained degrees in pedagogy and theology and was ordained a priest in 1970. He founded the Association "Casa Famiglia Rosetta" in 1985, which is a recognized NGO, non-profit organization with Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Association Casa Famiglia Rosetta specializes in the acceptance, rehabilitation and social integration of people in difficulty (people who are disabled; with HIV/AIDS; with drug use disorders or with alcohol and gambling problems). Through its network of 40 centres, genetic and neuro-physio- pathology laboratories, therapeutic communities, family homes and rehabilitation clinics in Italy, Tanzania and Brazil, the Association cares for over 1500 people and their families.
In addition to Casa Rosetta, Father Sorce was President of the "Alesslo" Istituto Euromediterraneo Foundation; National Vice- President of the Religious Socio- Health Institutions - AR.l.S.; Director of the Degree Course for Professional Educators affiliated with the Roman Pontifical Educational Faculty Auxiliurn; Director of the four-monthly review Sohdorietc; and published more than 40 volumes and participated in numerous conferences all over the world.
Since 1970, Father Sorce was a priest of the diocese of Caltanissetta. He served as parochial vicar, director of the catechetical office, director of the Institute of religious sciences and professor of psychology, pedagogy, catechetics and pastoral theology, at the Theological Faculty of Sicily in Palermo.
