Inter-glam Bursary Award for Pakistani Delegate Participation in Lisbon Addictions

During the second last month of 2022, November 22-24 an international conference was held successfully at the Lisbon Congress Center in Portugal with the collaboration of SICAD, EMCDDA and the Portuguese Directorate. Organized by Clinic in Barcelona, the Inter-glam team invited researchers from different countries who were also part of working groups for drafting global perspectives on drug addiction challenges and relevant topics to take part in the backcasting activity and video contest as jurors as an expert in the field. Side events were also planned during 21-22 November including gender and addiction, two days of training on EUPC-European Universal Curriculum for addiction prevention that certified the selected participants. Other than European and American states, Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani members were present on the occasion.

To give remarks on my personally experienced event, I, Dr. Nazish Idrees show gratitude greatly towards all the parties and inviting partners involved in this effort for such an honourable exposure with the recent research findings about assessment, diagnostics, treatment and innovative ideas on drug addiction and process addictions.  Another similar opportunity attended was the latest Abu Dhabi conference by ISSUP that granted the possibility of taking certification for ICAP exams and training tracks for selected members globally. Substance use disorders are on the rise worldwide and in contrast to Asia where stimulants are frequently used, European populations are at the target of alcohol use disorders and cannabis use disorders. Along with collaborative initiatives and creative projects, we together would reduce the harm that’s becoming a disaster for humanity in the form of substance abuse.
