WEBINAR | Relapse Prevention: A Step Towards Sustained Recovery

COVID-19, along with the associated restrictions, has and continues to impact on the access to and provision of health care services. This talk hones in on the impact of services for substance use disorders, presenting new insights arising from current research. Hosted by the South Africa HIV Addiciton Technology Transfer Centre (UCT Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health), and SANCA National.
This presentation will give a brief summary of the meaning of evidence-based prevention, what interventions consist of, and the scope they may have. In the same way, there will also be a review of the learnings and outcomes that both prevention practice and research have left, as well as the barriers that are imposed for the implementation of these interventions.
The Center on Addiction is supporting families impacted by problems due to substance use that may face new difficulties because of COVID-19.
This webinar, developed by the Central East PTTC, will discuss adapting prevention interventions to better serve minority populations in our communities.
What does it mean to make listening the central piece of our leadership and organizing practices? How can we do so effectively? And how can we use it as a tool to produce better results?
