ISSUP met with the South Sudanese delegation to discuss the way forward for building their capacity to address the massive needs in their country. All were in agreement that the first need was for capacity building and training. Help required to make this become a reality!
Supported by INL, at ISSUP 4, National Chapters from many countries are meeting to discuss steps forward on prevention, treatment, recovery, social integration, among other relevant issues.
Representatives and participants from all around the world attended the opening ceremony of ISSUP 4 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC).
AU Commission Dr Jane O’ngolo posit that ‘practitioners in the area of drugs are struggling to address new challenges and new forms of addiction and that Africa must invest in the national and regional Drug epidemiology networks’
