Virtual plenary with Francis Collins and Nora Volkow on opioid crisis and COVID-19 at #RxSummit2020

Dr. Francis S. Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH); and Dr. Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse hosted a virtual Plenary Session, on April 16, 2020, at the Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit 2020 (https://www.rx-summit.com/​). They discussed the latest developments of the Helping to End Addiction Long-term SM Initiative, or NIH HEAL Initiative SM (https://heal.nih.gov/​) and the ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic is colliding with the opioids crisis, and posing unique challenges to people with substance use disorder.
