SHAAP are seeking to appoint a motivated individual to support the SHAAP team’s work to influence alcohol policy and practice to reduce the harms caused by alcohol in Scotland. The diverse and often fast-paced work by SHAAP means this role will be vital in providing the team up to date, accurate, and useful evidence by undertaking agreed project work and research, and to support the work of the Scottish Alcohol Research Network (SARN).

The Role

Please refer to the Job Description for the full details. The Research and Projects Officer role includes:

  • To lead on agreed project work and research, to support implementation of SHAAP strategic priorities.
  • To provide support for the Scottish Alcohol Research Network (SARN), as agreed with the SHAAP Director and the SARN Co-Chairs and taking the lead on specific projects.
  • To research and draft relevant briefings, reports, publications and information materials, including website-based materials.
  • To work as part of the SHAAP team to prepare and deliver educational conferences, seminars and workshops.
  • To support the general running of SHAAP’s operations.
  • To undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the SHAAP Director.
  • Undertake relevant professional training activities as agreed with SHAAP Director.

This is a full-time role based at the College in Queen Street, Edinburgh, with flexibility for a form of hybrid working to be agreed.
