Welcome to our Day 4 - 15th May

Really enoying this conference. It is fascinating to see developments from around the globe. As someone who has spent over 40 years in Substance Use Disorder research, policy and practice it is heartwarming to see how we are all striving to implement evidence based practice and policy. In my experience it is easier to implement evidence based practice than to influence and transform policy to be driven by evidence. This conference is a truly historical event. In the UK we have great impetus as a result of the Dame Carol Black Review (Parts one and two), a new national strategy and considerable new funding to support evidence based practice. The timing of this conference is perfect.
