The project focuses on palliative and end of life care for people who use, or have used, substances (alcohol or other drugs). We are working with 10 partners in Liverpool and Sefton to try to develop a new model of care which will improve people's access to services and their experiences of palliative and end of life care when they get there.

The project spans social and health care and comprises a multi-disciplinary team of people within and outside the University, including partners in MerseyCare NHS Foundation Trust and Voicebox Inc., a community voices group. The project is just one of a large number of research and knowledge exchange projects sitting with the SUAB research group (Substance Use and Associated Behaviours). We have a wide range of expertise and interest within the group on many different aspects of substance use and related behaviours.
