Introduction

Addiction is prevailing all over the world. People use different addictive chemicals in different ways in different regions. Each region and religion has its own norms and values which cannot be ignored dealing with any kind of social problem .There are so many models of addiction treatment. In these days Disease Model is considered the best model in the world and all treatment strategies are being developed by focusing this model. All psychological screening tools are developed according to this disease model.

Those regions where joint family system is strong, have different meanings of living and drug use also. When any family member using drugs appears in RADAR of family ,he or she has to face punishments rather than treatment .He or she has to face family aggression first, social pressure etc. There are many kinds of penalties for user like social boycott, detachment, breakups and so on.

There is a need of such assessment tool which can measure severity according to family sufferings or crises too. A family in crises can assess addiction severity well. So that involuntary treatment can be encouraged in such regions where joint family system has strong roots. In such countries where no one can marry without consent of elders, involuntary treatment has its importance; we cannot ignore its importance. Secondly if family wants treatment of its loved one, this tool will get documented proof and it can be used further in counseling process too.

So there is a Rubble Addict’s Family Inventory (RAFI). Its 20 items tool and 3 members (out of 7 family members) will answer the questionnaire individually. Scoring is very easy which is described in manual.

Procedure of test Administration

Time of Administration =15 minutes.

Total items = 20

First 15 items carry 1 mark each

Last 5 items carry 2 marks each

Three family members of addict will fill the questionnaire individually one questionnaire each.

(Father, mother, sister, brother, wife, daughter and son).

Scoring procedure

25+25+25=75 divided by 3=25

Total score of the questionnaire= 25

Total Score of all YES answer of three questionnaires divided by 3.
