This a new series of presentations on the latest neuroscientific discoveries of Anxiety, Depression, Fear, Shame, Trauma, and  Substance Use Disorders (SUDS) developed for behavioural health practitioners. Individuals seeking certification as a Certified  Addiction Counsellor will gain the basic pharmacology of substance use disorders and experienced counsellors will develop an  understanding of the neuroscience about the “moods” of substance use disorders. Discussions of the latest neuroscience along  with patient case studies will give the practitioner a “roadmap” for educating their patient to various emotional states of  substance use disorders. Practical applications of therapeutic approaches will be an important of these seminars. 

The emotional states to be reviewed will be in a numerical ordered series as follows:

  1. Anxiety
  2. Depression
  3. Fear/Anger/Resentment
  4. Shame
  5. Trauma
  6. Substance Use Disorders
