Applications are invited for a talented and ambitious researcher, with mixed-methods skills and implementation science expertise, to support and develop an ongoing programme of research focused on improving health and social care systems to better support people with co-occurring substance use, mental and physical ill-health, led by Professor Amy O'Donnell at the Population Health Sciences Institute, Newcastle University.

The current research programme includes several National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded studies: NIHR ‘ADEPT' study, which examines the potential for using digital technology to improve coordinated care for co-morbid alcohol use disorder and depression; NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research-funded Alcohol Care Teams Evaluation; NIHR Three Schools Evaluation of the North East Alcohol Recovery Navigator Scheme; and NIHR ARC Evaluation of the Wakefield Mental Health Navigator Scheme.

You will be an integral member of the research team, leading the development, delivery, and dissemination of implementation-science-focused components of the above studies, providing mixed-methods methodological support and advice to other members, assisting where needed with data collection and analysis, and working closely with Professor O'Donnell to develop applications for external funding in this field, including conducting relevant evidence syntheses and public and patient engagement activities.
