The webinar will be presented by Dr. José Luis Vázquez-Martínez, who will comment on findings from current research and scientific publications on how technology and digital media can facilitate networking among young people and expose them to the norms and substance-related content of their peers and advertisers.

3. Understand the concept of "Internet gaming disorder" and its implications for adolescent mental health.

Presenter:

José Luis Vázquez-Martínez

José Luis Vázquez-Martínez is a physician who graduated from the School of Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a specialization in Addiction Treatment and a master’s degree in Comprehensive Prevention of Drug Use from the Universidad Veracruzana. He worked at the Mental Health and Addictions Directorate in Mexico City's Ministry of Health. Later, he served as Chief of the Department of Health Promotion and Prevention of Addictions at Mexico's Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE). He also served as Deputy Director of Mexico's National Commission against Addictions (CONADIC). Since 2012, he has collaborated as a Specialist in the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission's (CICAD) Drug Demand Reduction Unit. He has contributed to various specialized publications and is a tutor for several online courses.
