Silvia Morales Chainé has been a Psychology Faculty of the Autonomous National University of Mexico professor since 1999. She received a Psy.D. in Psychology with a concentration in Experimental Analysis of Behavior and an M.D. specializing in Addictions Psychology from UNAM.

She has worked in the Teaching and Services Center Coordination, providing counseling services to the college community and general population. She is recognized as a National System Researcher and part of the Academic Performance Program at UNAM. She teaches Learning and Adaptive Behavior, Addiction Psychology, and Methodological and Theoretical Research Skills courses.

Her research is centered on impulsive choices; notably, she studies temporal, probabilistic, and effort discounting for losses and gains with children and adolescents suffering from behavioral problems. Recently, she has developed a research project about mental health conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Silvia has extensive scientific production with several recent publications.
