Conclusion of the First Phase of ECHO Training on the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC)
As we conclude the first phase of the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) ECHO-Training, I am filled with immense gratitude for the collective efforts that have made this initiative a success. Since November 4, 2024, we have worked diligently to empower 22 participants from various institutions with evidence-based strategies to address substance use challenges in our communities.
This accomplishment would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the Ministry of Health, particularly the Mental Health Unit, for their role in participant recruitment and strategic planning. I extend heartfelt thanks to the World Health Organization (WHO) for their financial support and The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (DAP) for their indispensable training materials and capacity-building for national trainers.
As the Lead Facilitator, I commend the facilitators and Substance Use Disorders Prevention Professionals for their commitment to sharing their expertise. Your dedication has laid a strong foundation for advancing our shared mission of achieving significant drug demand reduction in Liberia.
Let this be a reminder that impactful prevention requires a united and collaborative workforce. Together, we are fostering resilience and building a healthier, drug-free Liberia.
