The position we are recruiting for is situated within the Public health unit, and the selected candidate will be reporting to the Head of sector health and social responses, under the supervision of Head of the substance, harms and responses unit. The job holder will contribute to objectives and outputs that further enhance and promote the scientific competencies of the EUDA in the area of prevention of drug use and its consequences, including in the areas of health promotion, crime prevention and social responses to drug-related harms, in a systematic and integrated approach. Environmental, community-based, universal, selected and indicated prevention, early intervention and health promotion are key areas of focus. The job holder will be working within the framework of the EUDA’s mandate, responsible for implementing work programme activities, both sector-related and transversal.
Main duties:
The successful applicant will be requested to perform the following main tasks and responsibilities:
Act as a point of reference within the agency on health and social and responses to drugs, with a focus on prevention science and practice;
Coordinate the agency’s monitoring, implementation and evaluation of drug prevention and related interventions (health promotion, crime prevention, quality standards, etc.);
Play an active role in the agency’s work in the area of capacity building and training for drug prevention, including with the European Prevention Curriculum (EUPC) (1 ) and training of trainers, the prevention content-related e-learning platform PLATO, etc.;
Support the agency’s projects in the area of prevention interventions across European countries and beyond, such as the X-change registry of evaluated programmes, Healthy Nightlife Toolkit, etc.;
Keep abreast of the latest research and developments in the relevant fields and summarise scientific literature for the implementation of prevention interventions;
Contribute to the agency’s core work and main data collection tools and products, including the European Drug Report, the Best Practice Portal, the European Responses Guide as well as new services developed by the agency; • Represent the agency in scientific meetings and conferences;
Manage the administrative and organisational tasks relevant to the above, including the preparation of work plans, meetings and ad hoc reporting tasks;
Develop and manage contracts with external providers in the prevention area;
Any other duties stemming from the purpose of the post that may be assigned by the Head of sector and Head of unit. The job holder may be required to contribute to other areas of work, according to the needs and priorities of the EUDA. In order to perform the duties of the post and ensure effective communication with the actors and stakeholders involved, the main working language required for the job is English.

Traineeship offer
The trainee will be allocated within the Public health unit, and the selected candidate will be reporting to the Head of sector Trends and analysis. The main aims of traineeships within the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA) are:
a. to give recent university graduates the opportunity to experience the general objectives and process of European integration;
b. to provide trainees with practical knowledge of the workings of a European agency;
c. to enable trainees to acquire practical experience and knowledge of the day-to-day work of the EUDA and its units;
d. to provide trainees with the opportunity to work in a diverse and multilingual environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance;
e. to enable trainees to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during their studies or professional careers.
Main duties
The successful applicant will be requested to perform the following main tasks and responsibilities:
Support the EUDA Threat assessment team and actively contribute to the health and security threat assessments launched by the EUDA;
Support the activities related to the analysis of data on HIV, HCV, and HBV among persons who use drugs, and data on syringe residue analysis (ESCAPE project), and other analytical projects in TAS;
Support members of TAS in managing networks of experts and data collection processes;
More generally to provide support to TAS sector expert meetings, webinars, publications etc. The jobholder may be required to contribute to other areas of work, according to the needs and priorities of the EUDA.

Traineeship offer
The trainee will be allocated within the Scientific coordination (SDI), and the selected candidate will be reporting to the Scientific director. The main aims of traineeships within the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA) are:

The position we are recruiting for is presently situated within the Risks to public safety and security (SAS) unit, and the selected candidate will be reporting to the Head of Action on new drugs sector. The jobholder will contribute to the EUDA actions that support and strengthen national and EU-level preparedness and responses to cross-border security and public health threats caused by illicit drugs, new psychoactive substances, their metabolites and precursors, as well as related substances such as adulterants, diluents and impurities, by providing expertise to detect, assess and respond to serious drug-related risks. In particular, the jobholder will contribute to the ongoing work of the EUDA to detect, assess and respond to public health and social threats posed by new psychoactive substances through monitoring, early warning, alerts and risk assessment, in order to support and strengthen national and EU-level preparedness and responses, and contribute to the health and security of the European Union.
The EUDA also intends to establish a reserve list for the post of scientific analyst for the international cooperation activities aiming to provide technical assistance to third countries (1 ). These activities are led by the Reitox and External partners unit and are managed in line with the agreed governance structure of each project. Candidates on the reserve list may be contacted according to the recruitment needs of the EUDA and receive an offer for engagement for the duration of the respective project.
The position we are recruiting for is situated within the Public Health Unit, and the selected candidate will be reporting to the Head of Sector Support to Practice, under the supervision of the Head of the Public Health Unit. The job holder will contribute to objectives and outputs that further enhance and promote the scientific competencies of the agency in the area of support to practitioners and decision-makers. The job holder will be working within the framework of the EMCDDA Strategy and the new EUDA mandate, with the responsibility to support work programme activities, both sector-related and transversal.
The successful applicant will be requested to perform the tasks and responsibilities listed below. General tasks will consist of assisting with the input, processing, analysis, and reporting of data necessary for the production of the Sector’s outputs, including:
search, identification, and filtering of publication databases for scientific literature;
preparation and preliminary synthesis of information retrieved from scientific and grey literature;
coordination and collection of information through online surveys addressing the agency’s stakeholders;
applying and ensuring adherence to scientific protocols for checking the quality of information, extracting of data, and reporting;
supporting the drafting of and ensuring compliance with standardised operating procedures to implement the scientific protocols;

Specific tasks will include:

The Director of Certification & Testing is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the domestic and international certification processes, and management of the Testing Department which is within the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCC AP), under the auspices of NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. The Director of Certification & Testing will be responsible for the development and distribution of certification products within the guidelines of NCC AP and NAADAC. NCC AP operates as an independent body for all matters involving NAADAC’s substance use disorders counselor credentialing and endorsement programs at the national and international levels.
