In Focus

Strengthening Capacity

INEP Plus ISSUP

ISSUP is committed to strengthening substance use prevention practice globally. The INEP Plus course was developed by ISSUP to provide training of facilitators from its National Chapters who could then offer courses for beginners in prevention.

Advocacy

On 14th May ISSUP was proud to co-sponsor an event on Tackling the Emerging International Threat of Synthetic Drugs at the UK’s House of Lords with Police, Treatment and Community Collaborative (PTACC), The Forward Trust, The Nelson Trust and Druglink Ltd.

ISSUP is committed to advancing global health through active participation in international initiatives. We participated in the UNODC Consultation Meeting in Vienna for "Friends in Focus": Shaping the Future of Peer-to-Peer Drug Prevention.

Treatment

ISSUP Kenya, facilitated training on the Universal Treatment Curriculum 1 (UTC1) for members of their community.

ISSUP Kenya, facilitated training on the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC). Training participants included clergy, community health promoters, psychologists, nurses, lawyers, university students and business leaders.

Recovery Support

ISSUP Botswana

In Botswana, ISSUP has been reaching new audiences with the message that recovery is possible. The team used local media to spread the message that with adequate treatment and support people can embark on a journey of healing and transformation.
