ISSUP Kenya, in collaboration with key partners, orchestrated a series of impactful initiatives during the National Substance Use Prevention Week, observed from the 19th to the 23rd of February 2024. The focal point of these endeavours was the creation of awareness at Kiambu National Polytechnic, specifically addressing matters related to substance use disorders.

Ο Πρόεδρος Yoweri Museveni συναίνεσε στον νόμο περί ναρκωτικών και ψυχοτρόπων ουσιών (έλεγχος) του 2023, ο οποίος, μεταξύ άλλων, επιτρέπει την αδειοδοτημένη καλλιέργεια και χρήση μαριχουάνας αυστηρά για ιατρική χρήση. Το νομοσχέδιο ψηφίστηκε από το Κοινοβούλιο τον Αύγουστο του 2023 καθορίζοντας σκληρές ποινές για ένα σμήνος εγκλημάτων που σχετίζονται με την κατάχρηση ουσιών.
