Younger people consider flavoured variations of tobacco products, for example, cigarettes and e-cigarettes less harmful and more appealing, according to a recent study conducted by researchers at the University of North Carolina Lineberger Cancer Centre.
Published in the journal Tobacco Control, the investigation concluded that banning artificial fruit and candy flavours may lessen the global consumption of tobacco products, particularly among teenagers. Indeed, sweet-tasting flavours are often a reason for adolescents initially experimenting with tobacco products and then progressing to frequent use.
