The International Model of Alcohol Harms and Policies

The Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research at the University of Victoria have released The International Model of Alcohol Harms and Policies.

Comprising of a set of guidelines, methods, and tools this resource was produced with the aim of creating a standardised set of methodologies for alcohol researchers. 

Free to download, the guide allows you to calculate relative risk, consumption and prevalence rates, and provides guidelines on alcohol morbidity and mortality. Included in the download is an SAS®-based tool for those looking for better data access, transformation and reporting.

There are hopes that the guide will allow better international working and more accurately comparable information collected globally.
