Physical activity has many health benefits: it strengthens the heart and can help improve bone health and fitness, lowers blood pressure, improves sleep quality and reduces the risk of diabetes.

Physical activity stimulates brain growth, motor skills and cognitive development. It improves learning and memory and helps children achieve better in school.

Physical activity releases endorphins and dopamine, nature pain relievers that also create a feeling of well-being and happiness and lower the risk of depression.

Children aged 3 to 5 should engage in active play for at least 3 hours each day.

Children age 6 to 17 should engage in at least one hour of moderate to vigorous activity a day.
