We have marked the beginning of a transformative journey as we kicked off the first of five days of UTC 4 - Basic Counseling Skills Certification Training at Life Community Church. This groundbreaking initiative, facilitated by The National LEAD Institute and ISSUP Bahamas National Chapter, brings together church parishioners and key public health stakeholders from the Public Hospitals Authority at Rand Memorial Hospital.

The National Chapters Team held a pivotal 2-day virtual meeting from 10th – 11th December 2024 to evaluate the current operational model for National Chapters and identify opportunities for improvement and growth. The meeting was dubbed a ‘Vision Meeting’ to reflect the core agenda: Crafting a forward-looking plan for the ISSUP National Chapters.

The theme for the 2024 symposium was “Balance and Coordinated Strategy for Building a Drug- Free Community: with Active Citizen Engagement” to highlight the importance of a holistic approach that includes supply and demand reduction, with a strong emphasis on the active involvement of community in creating sustainable drug- free environment.

The Secretariat for Comprehensive Drug Policies of the Argentine Nation (SEDRONAR), in collaboration with the Drug Advisory Program of the Colombo Plan (DAP), together with the OAS-CICAD, UNODC, and with the support of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the U.S. Department of State in Washington, organised the regional meeting of Drug Commissions of Latin America.
